Reviews about Meadowlark Inn & Restaurant
- 5 / 5By Aaron KirkhamWe loved this place because the service and the people were great. It was the small town hospitality that you hear about. The beds were nice, not the best, however they are such nice people. We had a trouble getting into our room after hours and they had a feeling come help us. Great place! Great food!April 17, 2017

The receipt says "Riverside Bar & Grill"
For being in the middle of essentially nowhere, this was a perfect place to stop and eat for dinner. After leaving town, heading east, there really aren't any more options for well over an hour.
We were pleasantly surprised and happy with our meal.
Not crowded, was very quiet so service was allowed to be attentive. It doesn't look like it was remodeled in many years, but the old interior didn't distract from the good food.
I fed a family of 6 for $37 (we all drank water)
Kids meals were $4.95 each, Open Face Hot Turkey sandwich was $6.99 and the Philly Steak Sandwich was $7.99.
Talking to the locals in the restaurant, I was advised to NOT drive on US 26 eastbound as it was getting dark and the locals know how hazardous it is.. I decided to drive it anyways and in hindsight, I should have listened! Luckily nothing happened but there were plenty of close calls with wildlife all the way to the interstate. I've driven in all 50 states and it is like nothing I've ever seen before. You do not want to experience it.
If you are heading east on US 26 after you eat and it is to be dark before you reach Ogalala, DO NOT, I repeat: DO NOT DRIVE EAST ON US 26 AT NIGHT. It is literally a continual deer hazard- total dark drive with deer in the road. You wont have much time to react and the deer stand in the middle of the road. Consider yourself warned.
But definitely eat here! I recommend it and it is affordable.
But no US 26 at night.November 27, 2016 - 5 / 5By Blazes BabeWonderful service....free breakfast when renting a rm....Awesome food...nice quiet atmosphere ( in the am) we stayed at over 40 hotels from Colorado to Nebraska, Windham, holiday inns, you name it, best by far " The meadowlark lodge, rooms are huge....clean and convenient....13 or so miles away from OLD OREGON TRAIL... cool to see...November 19, 2016
- 5 / 5By Jen HaubrichThe rooms are a good size, they have a microfridge in them, wifi, satellite. Basically it's like staying at a Holiday Inn for 1/3 the price. Also, your free breakfast is off the breakfast menu in the restaurant. How cool is that?July 18, 2016
